Reading in Mark and
2:1-5 stuck out to me.
I feel this is the example we have of how we should care for our friends and loved ones to come to Jesus. Are we shrinking away because it is uncomfortable or are we so determined that we are bending over backwards tearing holes in ceilings to bring our friends and family to Christ? I definitely get the difficulty in bringing a loved one to Christ. But reading this really struck me with this. These men were so determined for this man to get to Jesus they carried him there, they took him on the room, cut a hole in the roof, and then proceeded to lower him down into the room Jesus was in. They were determined to do whatever it took to get that man to Jesus. If we pursued non believers with this same attitude what kind of difference could that make bringing people to Jesus?
