He never walks away. Even in the silence He is there.

I love the times in my life where I am living and breathing Jesus everyday. When I am just on fire for Jesus it is easy to be patient, loving, give grace, and just lift others up.

But let’s be honest I do not know very many people who have never gone through a dry spell. Maybe in times of hardships, frustrations, when we are comfortable, or we are just to be busy to give God the time He truly deserves. In the end though we all feel as though we go through times where we feel distant from God.

Depression and Anxiety are two very real struggles for me. Having been diagnosed for over 10 years now they are battles that I constantly phase. People have told me i’m Over reacting, it’s not that bad, to just get over it, to stop being that way, i’m Just not praying enough. Depression and Anxiety are very real struggles for a lot of people. Treating them as though they are not difficult struggles only makes people feel worse.

Anxiety and depression can grip hold of your life and control every part of it. I want to focus on anxiety today and focus on ways that help me to deal with it.

1) reading my Bible. God’s word brings life, he spoke creatures into being. His words have power. We were never meant to go through life alone and there are so many verses that can help in the midst of anxiety. For instance, “In my weakness He is strong” is one that tells us God is fighting for us.

2) worship music. This is my happy place. Hillsong’s there is more album is my favorite right now.

3) know yourself. Know your triggers and try to avoid them if possible. If you cannot, just be sure to remove yourself before it becomes too much to handle.

3) breathe. Take deep breaths to calm yourself when you feel yourself getting anxious.

4) do not let yourself get too busy. If idle hands are the devil’s play things over worked hands creates and overworked mind and body that creates health risks which will lead to idle hands.

5) talk to someone about it. I have an accountability partner I have her check in on certain things that might be slipping, but there have been a few times that I needed to talk to someone who is a professional. There is nothing wrong with this. If you need it do it. Do not feel ashamed about it
